The film was produced by MCAD alum Katelyn Haugdahl and has been picked up for distribution by Landmark Theatres. In 2009, he released his second feature film, INTO TEMPTATION, starring Kristin Chenoweth, Jeremy Sisto, and Brian Baumgartner. INTO TEMPTATION premiered at The Newport Beach Film Festival where Sisto won a best acting award. The film played theatrically in seven cities and has been released throughout North America by Millennium Entertainment, on Showtime, and on the Encore Network. Coyle's first feature film, DETECTIVE FICTION, based on his award-winning stage play, premiered at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and won awards at the Newport (RI) International Film Festival and the Minneapolis/St. Paul International Film Festival. DETECTIVE FICTION was released theatrically by Landmark Theatres and played for two years on the Sundance Channel. Coyle wrote, directed, and acted in all his films. He also writes plays and screenplays, winning the 2006 McKnight Screenwriting Fellowship for his original script, BROKEN BOW, and a 2014 MN Artists Initiative Grant and a Legacy Grant for THE PUBLIC DOMAIN. Then she became an HIV/STD-test counselor in San Francisco, an ESL teacher, an acupuncturist and herbalist, traveled a bunch, and was a department chair at a small university. She taught chemistry and physics, too! It was fun! Then in the winter of 2019, she randomly decided to take a writing class. Since that fateful day, her plays have been performed in the UK, Washington state, and Minnesota.
